This autumn we’re exploring all sorts of new and exciting things. We are working with some fantastic literary translators in partnership with the Stephen Spender Trust to bring the art of translation into primary schools; we’re planning ‘A message to the World’ which forms part of A New Directions’ delivery of the enquiry schools programme in London and our Cultural Ambassadors are feeding back to Hackney Arts organisations about what they enjoy about Discover Young Hackney. We’ve also got the our fantastic intern Anne Marie Sanguini from California working in the office with us through the autumn. Our next post will give you Anne Marie’s impressions on life this side of the pond! Tell us what you want to find out about Eastside’s projects and we’ll do our best to let you know.
Autumn at Eastside
September is really here!
Grey skies, a slight chill in the wind, kids back at school, yep September is definitely here.
Hackney Carnival was here!
Eastside youth that are currently taking part in the Gold Arts Award organised some kids to take part this year. They worked so hard on this project! From costumes to dance moves, they did it ALL.
SCHOOLS OUT!
With the end of Summer comes the end of our Summer Universities. We ran quite a few classes this summer, ALL over London. And with Art classes it means there’s loads of art to share! Some of the kids will be showing what they have managed to produce soon at the Stratford Circus. But until then, I will post some of the pictures we have.
